Au Vodka Swans to feature in The Soccer Tournament

Swansea City – together with a number of club partners – will be heading to North Carolina this June to compete in the second edition of The Soccer Tournament (TST).

The team, Au Vodka Swans, will compete against a number of high-profile European clubs at TST, including Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Villarreal, as well as a host of newly-created teams including global stars such as Sergio Aguero, Mario Balotelli and Luis Nani.

TST is an exciting, fast-paced seven-a-side event with a $1 million winner-take-all prize.

Au Vodka Swans will be captained by Swansea City legend and club ambassador Lee Trundle, who will be joined in the squad by an exciting mix of local talent, small-sided specialist players and a footballing influencer with over one million subscribers.

Richard Morris, head of commercial at Swansea City said: “This unique collaboration between Swansea City and three club partners provides us with the opportunity to showcase the Swansea brand in a new market, to a new demographic and in more creative ways.

“I’d like to thank Au Vodka, Joma and Talent Hire for funding the project, as well as their vision and trust in bringing this ambitious project to life and challenging us to think about how the club can leverage and activate commercial rights outside of the traditional footballing assets.”

TST will run from June 5 to June 10, with 27 matches streamed via the ESPN+ platform in the USA, and selected matches chosen for live linear TV coverage.

All matches will be available to watch in the UK via the TST YouTube channel.

Au Vodka Swans have been drawn in Group C of TST and will play the following:

June 5 - Socceroof (KO 6.30pm UK time)

June 6 - Fitbodega Vancouver (2.45am UK time)

June 7 - Tobacco Road FC (12.30am UK time)
