Archie Matthews makes Penybont loan move
Swansea City goalkeeper Archie Matthews has joined Penybont on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 22-year-old has recently returned from a lengthy lay-off with a serious knee injury, and the move to the Cymru Premier side gives him the chance to get valuable game time under his belt.
He links up with a Penybont side who finished third in the Welsh top-flight last term and qualified for Europe. They currently sit eighth in the standings this term.
Matthews joined the Swans Academy having come through the ranks at Swindon Town, for whom he made a solitary senior appearance in a 2-1 League One victory over Northampton during the 2020-21 season.
During his time with the Robins he had loan spells with AFC Totton, Thatcham Town and Melksham Town before joining Birmingham ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.
