Coach Anthony Wright felt Swansea City Under-21s got the result their recent performances have deserved after beating Bristol City 4-3 in the Professional Development League.

Morgan Bates' 92nd-minute winner claimed a dramatic victory on the road for the young Swans. Olly Thomas netted a hat-trick for the Robins, but further goals from Thomas Woodward, Aimar Govea and Bates secured the three points for the visitors.

It's the Swans' second win of the week after they claimed a 1-0 victory over Hull City on Monday, and Wright is pleased with the turnaround after a tough string of recent results on their travels.

"It was a game we deserved to win,” said Wright.

“We had a very dominant start where we created two chances we should score and certainly be ahead in game, with Bristol's first chance they scored which was disappointing after how dominant we were.

"We did show resilience and pushed even more,  scoring two good goals. The first came from an aggressive press and forcing a turnover with Woody [Thomas Woodward] slotting home a neat finish, and the second was from good build up, and Aimar then showed his individual quality to beat his opponent and drive home a spectacular finish from the edge of box.

"We spoke at half-time about how Bristol would react and come out fast to try and get back into the game, I’m a bit disappointed how we started the first 15 minutes of the second half and this give Bristol momentum and a chance to score early.

"Once we started getting hold of the ball again we swung the game into our favour and with that created chances to score goals.

"I thought the changes give us a spark with Filip Lissah and Ramon Rees-Siso doing really well. The boys moved the ball well for the last 30 minutes and we were very pleased for them to get two more goals to win the game, with Morgan scoring twice to round off a good performance overall. It’s always nice to get a last-minute winner.

"Overall, two games this week and six points and two good performances has been a good return."
