Anthony Wright pleased to bounce back after tough run
Coach Anthony Wright was pleased to see Swansea City Under-21s pick up three points after a tough run of results with a 3-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday.
The Swans led inside 10 minutes after Kyrell Wilson won and converted a penalty, before Aimar Govea sent Ben Lloyd through to double the Swans' lead.
Bruno Fernandes pulled a goal back for Sheffield Wednesday in stoppage time, but Lloyd went straight up the other end to restore Swansea’s two-goal lead in the 93rd minute.
It was the young Swans first win in four, and Wright believes it will put them in good stead ahead of a tough upcoming schedule.
"I think, in the first half, we played very well. We created a lot of opportunities and we defended well, and were rewarded with an early goal," said Wright.
"We could have had even more goals in the first half, albeit their keeper made some very good saves and we played some very good football at times.
"A positive is that when we had our good moments, we looked a real threat but then at times we were a bit sluggish.
"Our objective as a team was to score goals, not concede and get ourselves over the line, which is what we have struggled with recently. We are disappointed to have conceded so late on, and it's a goal we could have prevented.
"We've got two tough games next week in Ipswich and West Brom, and this will definitely be a boost after not picking up a win in a while."
