Anthony Wright pleased with application in dominant performance
Anthony Wright praised Swansea City Under-21s' application in their dominant display over Peterborough United in the Professional Development League on Friday.
Sammy Henia-Kamau opened the scoring in the 68th minute, and Thomas Woodward - fresh off his professional contract, added a second in the final 10 minutes.
The Posh pulled one back through Eddie Fox's long-range strike in stoppage time, but it was only a consolation.
It's the Swans second consecutive victory in the league, following their 3-1 victory over Colchester United a week prior.
"It was a very good win on a difficult pitch. I was very pleased with the player’s application both in and out of possession," said Wright.
"The pitch was lively and that took an extra concentration and focus with the ball and I thought the players did that very well.
"We built out well playing through the opposition and having many final third entries, the only thing missing was the goals today, we could have scored four or five if I’m honest, but we must give credit to Peterborough they did defend the box well at times and also we were a little impatient getting shots off.
"Maybe the players were enjoying the game and with this just wanted to attack continuously and some times it needed that extra pass or finer detail in final third. In the end, we scored two goals and were disappointed to concede a sloppy goal right at the end. But overall a pretty it was a dominant display."
