Coach Anthony Wright praised a fine all-round team performance from Swansea City Under-21s after they saw off their Ipswich counterparts 4-0 at Landore.

The Swans assumed control of the Professional Development League encounter from the off, with Kyrell Wilson and Kristian Fletcher goals giving them a 2-0 half-time lead.

Fletcher would go on to complete his hat-trick with a pair of excellent finishes late on, with the development side also recording a second-straight clean sheet.

And while the form of his striker’s will garner much of the attention, Wright was pleased by the collective showing against the Tractor Boys.

"It was a brilliant team performance, I thought we had a lot of control in the game," he said.

"We were playing against a good side, and so the really pleasing part of the performance was the control we had when we did not have the ball.

"We were really aggressive when we needed to be, the players worked well in their units and as a collective and we restricted them to very few chances.

"The group are working hard at that. We understand that, at this level, there will be mistakes, but the boys are working really hard.

"It's important we enjoy the win, but we should enjoy the clean sheet too."

But Wright did have words of praise for Wilson and Fletcher, who have now racked up a remarkable 24 goals between them in all competitions this season.

"Between them they have a nice blend, but the main thing they have is pace," he added.

"They are still learning and developing, they have scored a lot of goals for us and long may that continue.

"Let's hope they keep doing that, and they keep working hard and improving their understanding as a partnership.

"If they do that it gives us the best chance of pushing them through and that's what it's all about."
