Anthony Wright felt Swansea City Under-21s' execution of their game plan was key to their 1-0 victory over play-off chasing Hull City on Monday evening.

The Swans bounced back from defeats on the road against Colchester and Wigan respectively, thanks to centre-back Jack Fanning's powerful finish in the final quarter of the game.

It also made it three consecutive wins in a row on home turf, following victories over Charlton Athletic and Burnley.

"I thought for an under-21s' game, it was a brilliant game of football. It was a real pleasing performance overall for us,” said Wright.

"We spoke to the players before the game, and we demanded more off them, especially off the ball.

“Over the last couple of games we've given away poor goals, and they're goals we shouldn't have been giving away.

"There was a clear focus around not conceding, and the boys stuck to it. Again, when we spoke to the players before the game we highlighted that, same as Burnley, Hull are up there in the North league so we knew it was going to be tough.

"In the first half, it was complete dominance by us. But because they couldn't really get out, they had a lot of numbers in their box.

"When we got in half-time, we were really pleased with our game, but we said we could stretch the game a bit more, and they did that well in the second half."
