Anthony Wright | The players got what they deserved for their effort
Coach Anthony Wright hailed the effort and determination of Swansea City's Under-21s after they overcame an early red card to secure a 1-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
The visitors had Filip Lissah dismissed in the 17th minute for a foul on Bruno Fernandes, but the Swans had the better of the chances in south Yorkshire.
But substitute Maliq Cadogan would seal the three points late on as he finished at the time second time of asking after receiving a lay-off following Kyrell Wilson's brilliant run.
The win keeps the Swans in the play-off hunt and Wright felt they deserved the spoils.
He also praised the efforts of the likes of 16-year-old debutant Harlan Perry, and first-year scholar Iestyn Jones, in the win.
"I'm so pleased for the players. We went down to 10 men early on in the game, and it was always going to be difficult from that moment on," said Wright.
"We're so proud of the effort put in by the players and they got their rewards that they deserved throughout the 95 minutes of the game.
"I thought Harlan [Perry] was excellent, and giving those debuts and opportunities is what we're about as a football club.
"We asked some players to play out of position, we had first-year scholars and we were against a team who are fighting for the top two, like us.
"I thought the young players were terrific, and we're never been scared to give players opportunities, because we know their level.
"We have one game left, and we want to finish the season on a high. Depending on the other teams' results, we have every chance of making the play-offs."
