Coach Anthony Wright admitted it was a frustrating afternoon as Swansea City Under-21s fell to defeat against Coventry City on Friday.

Rylie Siddell opened the scoring in the 20th minute before a an own goal six minutes into the second half had the hosts two goals to the good.

A Trialist halved the deficit with 20 minutes to go with a lovely finish, but it wasn't enough to salvage a point for the Swans.

"It was a  frustrating afternoon," said Wright.

"With us having to make a change just before kick-off due to an injury, and then change a few players around from their normal positions this disrupted the early part of the game where I thought we started slow and were lucky not to concede.

"However, once we settled to the changes we had control and were creating chances. We are disappointed not to have scored from at least one of them.

"We then made an individual error that gave a goal away, which happens at times. We reacted well but couldn’t get that goal back before half-time.

"We started the second half on the back foot, Kit Margetson had to make some good saves to keep us in it after they scored their second.

"We changed shape and started to keep hold of the ball and apply some pressure. We had chances but were not able to take them until 15 minutes to go.

"We really pushed on after that, it just wasn't to be. I can't fault the effort of the players, but it is something they will certainly learn from."
