Andre Ayew | Let's keep the momentum going
Andre Ayew has urged Swansea City to make the most of their recent good form and use it as the basis for a promotion push over the final stages of the season.
The Ghanaian grabbed his 12th goal of the season against Wigan at the weekend, turning in Bersant Celina’s cross to ensure the Swans returned to the top six at the conclusion of the last round of fixtures.
There are still 18 games remaining this term, and Ayew views this as a critical period in the jostling for position in a congested Championship.
The Swans have now lost just one of their last eight games, are unbeaten in four, and have one of the best runs of recent form in the divisions.
And Ayew wants to ensure this good spell counts for something over the business end of a gruelling campaign.
“Where we are…. It’s good, but it’s not enough,” he said.
“We need to keep the momentum going if we want to get results and stay high in the league table.
“I think it is now an important period of the season, we’re into the second half of the season and everyone is looking at each other’s results.
“Now every game is really important and the league is so tight, you can’t lose stupid points.
“We are going to try and pick up as many points as we can, to do that until the end of the season is going to be hard but I think we have the quality to do it.”
