Alan Sheehan | We must not stand still, we have to keep pushing
Alan Sheehan has challenged Swansea City to continue to push forward and not stand still as they get set to face Watford at Vicarage Road tonight (7.45pm).
The Swans make the trip to Hertfordshire having kept three clean sheets in a row, and taken two wins and a draw from games against Blackburn, Preston and Middlesbrough.
Things do not get any easier with a trip to face a Watford side who have been strong in their own backyard for much of the campaign, before promotion-chasing Burnley visit the Swansea.com Stadium at the weekend.
Caretaker head coach Sheehan feels there have been plenty of positives to take from recent showings, but says it is imperative the Swans continue to build on them.
“It’s down to us and what we do on the pitch, that’s where we need to do our talking, by doing things properly when we are out there,” he said.
“I think from where we were to have now got the points on the board is pleasing, but I don’t want us to stand still.
“I want us to be competitive in every game, so it’s down to us to find the way to do that.
“Watford have had better results recently, they have individuals who can hurt you and we all know the Championship is unpredictable.
“So we have to go there and be competitive and try to put our stamp on the game.
“We have been doing that, so it’s a challenge to look forward to. We want to be respectful of the opposition but not be afraid, and we will be prepared for the test ahead.”
