Caretaker head coach Alan Sheehan says his squad are nursing a few bumps and bruises ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Burnley, and admits it will be touch and go as to whether Harry Darling is able to feature against the Clarets.

The Swans face the Lancashire outfit less than 72 hours after playing Watford at Vicarage Road, with the fixture being their fourth in the space of just 11 days.

Sheehan says there is a bit of fatigue with the quick turnarounds between games, while Darling continues to be assessed as he recovers from a hip problem.

“We’ve got a few bumps and bruises, we have had a really quick turnaround. It’s been relentless really from Wednesday.

“We travelled back, we got back about three or four in morning, and then had a recovery day yesterday and a debrief of the game. We’ve had some really good conversations with the players.

“We were out on the grass today, but it was very, very light, so it is a quick turnaround and we’ll see where we are for the game.

“We are waiting on Harry. We are not sure, it will go down to the wire again, and we will have to respect how he is feeling and where he is at. He is desperate to play, but we will have to wait and see.

“We do not have Hannes, and Myles has gone. We just have to be adaptable with what we do. We have numbers and quality in different ways with Cyrus and Kyle Naughton, and we have an academy here which we are always looking at.”
