Alan Sheehan wants Swansea City to continue to show an ability to adjust and adapt in games as they prepare to host Plymouth Argyle in another key game on Wednesday night (7.45pm).

The Swans have claimed four points from their two games following the international break, but it required two different sorts of performance to secure those results.

In their draw at Leeds, the Swans were aggressive with and without the ball against the best attacking team in the division and got their reward with a 2-2 draw.

The weekend win over Derby saw Swansea have to deal with relentless aerial deliveries into their territory and penalty area, before striking the key decisive blow late on.

Like the Rams, Plymouth are battling to avoid relegation, while the Swans still needs points to make sure they are mathematically safe.

And Sheehan expects his side to once again be able to roll with the punches, and find the solution that allows them to emerge with a positive result.

“They are another team who are fighting for their lives, they are also physical so it’s another tough test,” he said.

“At this time of year everyone raises their game that extra five per cent because there is so much at stake.

“They had a very positive result against Norwich City, they went to Watford and got a point. They have had good results, and they beat Liverpool not so long ago in the cup.

“We have to be aware of that and try and be the best we can be, and you have to be able to do the right thing at the right times in games because some of the goals we have conceded have come more from individual errors as opposed to anything structural.

“We want to be consistently picking up points, and we have been. We have had one game out of seven where we were miles below par, but that consistency is important in the Championship.

“We want to pick up more points and go into every game to be competitive. We have to be adaptable to different challenges, I think we have been, we have shown different sides to us and that gives us the best chance.”
