Alan Sheehan praised an “outstanding” performance from his Swansea City side after they secured a thumping 3-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle at the Swansea.com Stadium.

The Swans made it back-to-back home wins and clean sheets as they simply dominated the Pilgrims from start to finish in SA1.

They led inside four minutes when Lewis O’Brien arrived to head home his first Swansea goal from Ronald’s excellent cross, before a lovely set-piece delivery from Jisung Eom allowed Harry Darling to head home a second.

And Josh Key made it 3-0 with just 35 minutes played as his stunning strike from distance sailed over Argyle keeper Conor Hazard and into the top corner of the net.

It was a magnificent all-round performance, and caretaker head coach Sheehan could not hide his delight.

“I am delighted with the performance, I thought we were outstanding,” he said.

“The way we started the game and got after them in the first half was really good, and the margin could have been a lot more if you were going to be critical.

“But it’s a clean sheet, three goals and a wonderful win tonight.

“It was a very energetic performance, I thought we were incredible at times in all aspects of our game.

“You saw a really aggressive team, in and out of possession with a real desire to attack and I think tonight was the perfect night to do that.

“There was real quality in the goals, we have talked about adding outcomes from good pieces of play and Ronald is desperate to do that, and his end product could have seen him walk away with three or four assists.

“It was a well deserved first goal for Lewis O’Brien, arriving in the box which we want him to do in those positions, and then Jisung produces a wonderful ball for Harry Darling to score, and Josh Key’s goal is an incredible goal.

“We had numerous chances to put the game further to bed, but overall I am proud of the team tonight, I looked across the pitch and that is exactly how you want it to look.”
