Alan Sheehan hoping to have injured players back over busy festive period
Caretaker head coach Alan Sheehan hopes a number of Swansea City’s injury absentees will be able to play some part in the club’s busy festive fixture list.
The Swans host Middlesbrough at the Swansea.com Stadium on Saturday at the outset of a run of five Championship games in 16 days.
It makes for a hectic schedule, but Sheehan is hopeful that a number of players will be in a position to be involved at some stage with games against Preston North End, Southampton, Coventry City and West Bromwich Albion.
“Joe Allen is out training on the grass, so are Mykola (Kuharevich), Nathan Wood and Kristian Pedersen,” he said.
“Azeem is also getting back up to speed and we have to make sure we manage them right in that transition between the work with the medical and sports science department and getting them back out on the pitch.
“Hopefully we can get them some minutes, I hope they will be able to play some part before the end of the year.”
