Alan Sheehan hopeful on Harry Darling fitness as international stars return to Fairwood
Alan Sheehan is hopeful of having Harry Darling available for Saturday’s clash with Leeds United, but has confirmed Myles Peart-Harris’ season is over.
Defender Darling missed the games against Watford and Burnley with a hip injury, but has had time to recover over the international break and has returned to training.
The caretaker head coach also confirmed his internationals have returned to Fairwood without any major injury concerns.
But Peart-Harris’ loan spell from Brentford is definitively over. Sheehan had previously said there was a chance the midfielder could return to Swansea for the final part of the season having suffered a back injury.
“Myles is done for the season,” he said.
“To be fair today is the first day we’ve had the group together, after coming back from Korea, there was a trip to Australia, Chile, Slovenia and the Wales boys were in Macedonia.
“Those players have come back in and we are assessing a few bumps and bruises, we had trained with a small group and then we had them together today.
“Harry Darling is back on the grass so we’ll have a look at him closer to the time. It’s not definite yet that he will be available, it’s not 100 per cent.
“We’ve got most of the group available.”
