Aimee Deacon full of confidence after back-to-back hat-tricks
Swansea City forward Aimee Deacon is full of confidence after netting her second hat-trick in the space of a week to help secure a 4-0 victory over Cardiff Met.
Deacon had netted a treble in the 11-0 win over Talycopa AFC Women in the Bute Energy Cup, and repeated the haul as the Swans got back to winning the way in the league after defeat to TNS.
The forward put the Swans in front before the break against Met with a quickfire double, heading home a cross from Lucy Finch before tapping home a low cross by Taite Trivett two minutes later.
Robyn Pinder found the net after the restart, before Deacon had her third as she volleyed home at the far post.
Deacon was pleased to be amongst the goals again, and felt the win would be a huge boost to her side’s confidence.
“I’m over the moon with it,” said Deacon.
“It’s amazing to get two hat-tricks in two weeks and I will just keep pushing forward until the next game.
“I’m very happy, but it’s obviously not just about the goals, it’s about what we do to get them and everyone has worked hard to get the goals.
“It was really important to get our confidence up with a win.
“We just wanted to put the wrongs right after a disappointing result against TNS, we want to start an unbeaten run again at home and we’ve started that here.”
