Academy duo receive Wales Under-17s' call-ups

Swansea City Academy duo Billy Clarke and Iestyn Jones have been selected to represent Wales Under-17s at the Syrenka Cup in Warsaw, Poland.

Jones recently made the full-time step up the the under-18s, and has previously represented Wales at youth level, while Clarke has also represented the young dragons over the past two seasons.

Wales will open the tournament against the hosts Poland on Sunday, August 20 in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, before facing Romania on Tuesday, August 22 and Georgia on Thursday, August 24. The final two matches will take place in Warsaw. 

The matches will provide game time for Wales ahead of the Uefa Under-17 European qualifying round, which will take place from October 11 to 17. Craig Knight’s side have been drawn in Group 12 alongside Belgium, Gibraltar and hosts Israel.
