Swansea City Women reached the second round of the Bute Energy Welsh Cup after a comfortable win over Talycopa AFC Women.
Taite Trivett’s first half hat-trick set the Swans on their way, with Aimee Deacon finding the net twice, and Danielle Broadhurst and Emily Richards also on the scoresheet to give the visitors a 7-0 lead at the break.
Deacon and Richards would go on to complete their hat-tricks in the second half before a late own goal completed the scoring.
The Swans had the chance to take the lead within the opening minute, Chloe Chivers’ long ball forward found Trivett in the box, but her effort was saved and Broadhurst’s effort on the rebound went wide.
Eight minutes in and the Swans had a penalty after Steph Turner was brought down in the box. Chivers stepped up to the spot but pulled her effort wide of the post.
However, the Swans would finally have the lead in the 12th minute, Deacon slotted home from close range after Sammy Wynne picked her out in the box.
Richards doubled the lead six minutes later, her right-footed effort from the edge of the box finding the top corner.
Deacon would soon have her second, Wynne set her up again, sliding a ball through the Talycopa defence to allow the forward to it 3-0.
Trivett would soon be among the scoring, a fantastic long-range strike finding the top right corner to give the keeper no chance.
Just six minutes later Broadhurst would make it five, Wynne provided the assist again as she finished from close range.
Trivett would score her second four minutes before the break, linking up nicely with Deacon for her to apply a simple finish from close range.
And Trivett completed her treble before the break, knocking the ball past the oncoming keeper to make it 7-0 at the interval.
The onslaught from the Swans didn’t stop in the second half, Richards scored her second with another long-range strike that gave the goalkeeper no chance.
Deacon’s hat-trick would follow, the forward firing home from the spot after being fouled in the area.
Swansea would then reach double figures when Richards also sealed a hat-trick with 10 minutes to go, getting onto the end of Stacey John-Davis’s cross before tucking a low volleyed finish beyond the keeper.
Chivers’ late corner was then deflected into the net by a Talycopa defender to make it 11-0 and complete the scoring.
The win sees the Swans reach the second round of the Bute Energy Welsh Cup where they will travel to Carmarthen Town Women.
