Swansea City Women extended their unbeaten run after Stacey John-Davis' goal proved enough to secure victory in the South Wales derby.
The Swans' first real chance of the game came on the 10-minute mark when Emily Thomas' effort forced the Bluebirds' keeper Ceryn Chamberlain into making a save.
At the other end, Lisa Owen's shot from the right proved too powerful and went wide as the visitors searched for the opener.
Robyn Pinder tried her luck with a shot from distance for the home side but it was comfortably gathered by Chamberlain before a big chance for the hosts followed. A Katy Hosford free-kick found Steph Turner in a brilliant position in front of goal, but the latter was unable to turn her effort goalbound.
Hosford then latched onto the end of a Lucy Finch cross but her volleyed effort from inside the box went over.
Swans keeper Claire Skinner was called into action to palm a Ffion Price effort over the bar to keep the score level at half-time.
The first big chance of the second half came for the hosts via Stacey John-Davis but she saw her looped effort blocked in the area.
The Swans took the lead in the 55th minute after John-Davis showed composure in front of goal, pouncing on a loose ball before charging towards goal, beating the keeper and firing the ball into the back of the net.
Within seconds of entering the pitch, substitute Chloe Chivers unleashed an audacious effort from distance only to see it go well over the bar.
The Swans almost doubled their lead as a superb chance for Jess Williams went agonisingly close, but rolled just wide of the left post.
Another chance for Chivers followed but there was just too much power behind it and the shot went high and wide.
There was a nervy moment for Jamie Sherwood's side in the closing stages of the match as Eliza Collie looked through on goal for the Bluebirds but Williams was on hand to to put the ball into the grateful arms of Skinner.
