Swansea City recorded back-to-back home wins as Andy Rinomhota’s own goal gave them all three points against Rotherham United at the Swansea.com Stadium.
The breakthrough came with just 16 minutes to play as the Millers midfielder nodded a Liam Walsh corner beyond his own goalkeeper, Viktor Johansson, at the near post.
Johansson had frustrated Swansea for much of the afternoon, denying Liam Cullen, Jamie Paterson and Ronald among others as the hosts dominated possession.
But the breakthrough eventually came as head coach Luke Williams saw his side make it four wins from their last five games on home turf.
The Swans had been unchanged from their midweek win over Stoke City, while the visitors had also made no alterations following their defeat to West Bromwich Albion.
The home side picked up where they had left off against the Potters, and Ronald and Josh Key were prominent early on as they stretched the visiting defence.
Paterson narrowly failed to picked out Jay Fulton after driving along the byline.
Paterson then fed Cullen after robbing Hakeem Odoffin of the ball, but the striker’s shot was straight at Johansson in the Millers goal.
It was all Swansea, with Rotherham content to drop into a low block out of possession.
Johansson gathered in Ronald’s ball back across the box as it threatened to dip in under his crossbar before Cullen was denied when his glancing header from Josh Tymon’s corner hit a defender as it headed goalwards.
Lee Peltier went in the book for a crude challenge on Ollie Cooper as the Swans midfielder brought down a bouncing ball.
Johansson then punched away deliveries from Paterson and Fulton as the hosts sought a breakthrough against stubborn opposition.
Paterson had the best chance to date just before the interval when he stole the ball from Cameron Humphreys to leave him in on goal, but his final shot was parried by Johansson.
The Rotherham keeper also pushed away a firm strike from Ronald as the half ended goalless.
Swansea pressed forward again after the restart, Ronald’s left-footed strike was blocked away for a corner and Johansson claimed a handful of further deliveries into the box.
Harry Darling then strode forward after winning possession and saw his shot cannon off a defender and fly wide of the target with Johansson already committed.
Ben Cabango headed the resulting corner back across goal only to find no fellow white shirt there to turn home.
Johansson saved from Ronald before Cullen sent a looping header wide from Tymon’s centre.
Into the final 20 minutes and Williams sent on Aimar Govea and Walsh, following the earlier introduction of Jamal Lowe, to inject energy off the bench.
Govea made a couple of lively dribbles soon after his introduction and one of them led to the corner that broke the stalemate.
Walsh delivered a low corner and Rinomhota sent his attempted clearing header into his own net at the near post.
Lowe had an effort denied as Swansea sought a second, and Darling had a header saved, before Tom Eaves flashed a header inches wide for the visitors with the final touch of the game.
