Away win the perfect Christmas gift for Jack Army
Steve Cooper hopes Swansea City’s late victory at Luton Town will provide the Jack Army with the perfect early Christmas present.
The Swans claimed their fifth away win of the campaign on Saturday as Andre Ayew’s 82nd-minute effort saw off the Hatters.
Just over 1,000 fans made the trip to Kenilworth Road in the final game before Christmas Day, and Cooper was keen to thank them for their support up and down the country this season.
“I always mention it, but we are one team. Hearing the songs from behind the goal was just class.
“Our fans were making all the noise anyway on Saturday, and we knew if we scored the away end would erupt. It was a brilliant feeling because the supporters deserved that performance and result.
“I told the players that we had sold out our allocation even though it’s a game four days before Christmas.
“Christmas is an expensive time of year, and I know we have proper supporters who follow us everywhere, but they turned up in their numbers and I hope they felt the team did too.
“Their support has been absolutely incredible. It never fails to amaze me.
“Hopefully our fans can enjoy their Christmas Day with an even bigger smile on their face after that result.”
